I have always love KUALA LUMPUR. When I was growing up , there was even a song dedicated to this capital of Malaysia – “Kuala Lumpur , Kuala Lumpur ” by Datok Siti Nurhaliza . Yes Kuala Lumpur is a vibrant city , and it name in Malay language means “muddy confluence”; kuala is the point where two rivers join together or an estuary, and lumpur means “mud”
I have always feel so at home when I visited Kuala Lumpur , Kuala Lumpur. This trip to KL (short for Kuala Lumpur) , I explored the Jalan Ampang and Jalan Tun Razak area, staying at the Intercontinental . It is in the midst of the political change in Malaysia after the surprise win of a new government where the meeting of the Council of Eminent Persons is just held at Menara Ilham , just opposite to the hotel and Troika Sky Dining. I came to STRATO – an Italian restaurant sometime last year and had a good dining experience. Therefore wanted to comeback and tried the CANTALOUPE – French cuisine. It was good with a very good view if not for the up ad coming Four Seasons Hotel that block right in the middle of the Petronas Twin Towers. However FUEGO – the Mexican restaurant was a bit of a disappointment , bot in terms of the food ( not informed that it was spicy) , the ambiance was too noisy and unaccommodating service personnel.
After dinner , I took a stroll to the G Tower Hotel for a drink at the View Rooftop Bar. It has a magnificent view of the junction between Jalan Ampang and Jalan Tun Razak. As I was sipping my Hibiscus Jungle cocktail ,I cannot imagine to witness and to be part of this history in the making – a New Malaysia , where we have a new government after 60 decades of power abuse and corruption by the previous institution. This after the 9th May 2018 , 14th General Election. Cheers to a bright future for Malaysia. Cheers to Malaysians who dare to change.

Kuala Lumpur is known to be the city that never sleeps. But we all need a good night sleep and good night .
